Do you have more experience, skills, and knowledge than you can squeeze onto a couple of pages and a handful of bullet points? Are you looking for your next role, or your ideal one, but finding it hard to get through to the recruiters and hiring managers you most want to reach?
If the answer is “yes,” you’re in good company.
Hi and welcome to Profiled. I’m Martin Aranovitch, the founder of Profiled Careers.
I originally started building Profiled for myself. I was looking for remote work, I have a diverse skills background and a career that hasn’t followed a straight line, and a résumé was never going to show what I can actually do.
So I started building an AI-powered application with a completely different approach… a résumé that answers back!
As I started building it, I realized how many other experienced professionals face the same problem, and how much time recruiters lose trying to find them. So, I decided to turn my personal project into a platform for everyone.
Here’s the situation we’re in:
Candidates use AI to write their résumés. Recruiters use AI to screen them. And the résumés that make it through, typically get only a few seconds of a busy recruiter’s attention.
Profiled is designed to turn those few seconds of filtering and skimming into a few minutes of genuine exploration.
You build a detailed profile on a page that is uniquely yours with the help of our AI Profile Builder, and recruiters and hiring managers can investigate you in depth, in their own time, by asking questions about your experience in plain language.
They can chat with an AI tool that has your entire career as context to answer their questions, and paste in a job description to get an Honest Fit verdict on whether you’re a Strong fit, Worth a conversation, or Probably not the person for the role, with all the reasoning shown.
They can then contact you directly to set up an interview.
Our approach is built on honesty, which builds trust, and saves everyone time, money, hassle, and frustration. And Profiled never takes away the human side of hiring. It does the groundwork, so the conversations that matter can happen between the right people.
In this no-hype introduction, I’ll show you why the hiring system is broken, what Profiled is (and isn’t), who it’s built for, and how you can let AI work for you 24/7 to help you land your ideal role while you get on with everything else in your life.
Let’s jump right in.
What is Profiled?
Profiled is an AI-powered candidate profile platform. It’s not a job board or an applicant tracking system (ATS).

For a quick reference version of how it all works, see What is Profiled? in our docs.
Why hiring is broken
Here’s the problem Profiled was built to solve:
Hiring today runs on a document that was never designed to do the job it’s been given.
The résumé was built to be skimmed. Software made it worse. Many employers now use software to rank and sort applications by keyword overlap, which rewards vocabulary, not capability. Two people with identical skills get opposite outcomes because one of them happened to describe their work in the posting’s language.
The result is a system that fails everyone in it.
Candidates send out hundreds of applications and hear nothing back, learning nothing about why.
Experienced professionals get labeled “overqualified” and filtered out before anyone considers what their depth could bring. Career changers watch relevant experience go unrecognized because it’s written in the vocabulary of a different industry.
Meanwhile, recruiters drown in applications, screen on the wrong signals, and never see the people who could actually do the work. Everyone spends enormous effort, and the matches still aren’t good.
The tools built to fix this mostly make things worse.
Résumé optimizers help you game the filter. Auto-apply services help you flood it. Both scale the volume problem instead of solving the understanding problem, and none of them will ever tell you that a role isn’t right for you, because their business depends on you applying anyway.
Why Profiled is different
Profiled starts from a different premise: the problem isn’t how your experience is worded in your résumé. It’s that nobody can quickly, easily, and accurately assess your experience in the full context of your entire career’s journey. AI makes this possible.
Profiled uses the latest AI to give candidates the tools to provide hirers and recruiters with the context they need to assess their experience and match them to suitable roles quickly, easily, and accurately.
Instead of a static document, Profiled turns your career into an interactive, queryable profile. You build it through a guided conversation with the AI Profile Builder, which draws out the substance a résumé leaves behind: the projects you owned, the decisions you made, the problems you solved and the judgment you developed along the way.
Recruiters don’t skim that profile. They explore it. They can ask questions in plain language from your own personal AI Chat tool, and get real answers grounded in your actual experience.
Profiled’s Experience Stories and Skills Matrix deliver a structured, honest map of your capabilities to recruiters that names your strengths alongside your gaps.
Then comes the part that makes Profiled genuinely disruptive: the Honest Fit Assessment.
Paste in a job description and Profiled weighs your real experience against what the role requires, returning one of three verdicts: Strong fit, Worth a conversation, or Probably not your person.

It names your relevant strengths with the evidence behind them, ranks your gaps by severity, maps what transfers and what doesn’t, and gives a clear recommendation with a confidence score attached.
Including (when true), “this candidate probably isn’t your person.”

This willingness to say “no” is the whole design. Every other tool in the market is built to keep you applying. Profiled is built to tell your truth, because a system that never says “no” can’t be trusted when it says “yes.”
Honesty isn’t a marketing feature bolted onto our product. It’s the very thing that makes everything about Profiled believable.
Martin Aranovitch – Founder, Profiled Careers
You build a detailed profile using our AI-powered profile builder, and invite hiring managers and recruiters to ask in-depth questions about you, or paste a job description and get an honest fit verdict with the reasoning shown. Profiled never applies to roles on your behalf, and it never ranks you against other candidates.
When you run an Honest Fit Assessment against a target role, the assessment can return a genuine “Probably not your person” verdict rather than a bare score. When the fit is weak, it says so and explains the reasoning.
Your profile’s AI chat answers only from the content you’ve made public, and private fields are never shown to visitors or recruiters. What is Profiled? sets out exactly what stays private and what the assessment can see.
What Profiled isn’t
Profiled is easy to mistake for tools it was built to replace, so here’s what it isn’t:
- It isn’t a résumé writer. Profiled doesn’t polish your wording to get past a keyword filter. It helps you capture the substance behind your experience: the projects you owned, the decisions you made, and the problems you solved.
- It isn’t an auto-apply or mass-application tool. Profiled never applies to roles on your behalf.
- It isn’t a job board or an applicant tracking system. A job board lists roles. An ATS belongs to the employer and ranks applications you never see. Your Profiled profile is yours, it stays up, and the assessment runs where you can read it.
- It doesn’t rank you against other candidates.
- It doesn’t promise interviews or offers. Those decisions belong to the people reading your profile. What Profiled changes is what they have to read.
Who Profiled is for
Profiled is built for experienced professionals whose value doesn’t fit neatly onto a two-page résumé. It works best when you have five or more years of professional experience to draw on, and it’s especially useful for:
- Senior specialists and people with deep expertise who’ve been labeled “overqualified”
- Career changers whose transferable experience gets lost in another industry’s vocabulary
- People with diverse skill sets and non-linear careers
You’ll get the most from it if your career is hard to compress into bullet points, you want to be evaluated on depth rather than keywords, and you’re comfortable with an AI that tells the truth about your gaps. It’s a particularly good fit if you work in tech, SaaS, product, finance, healthcare, legal, or operations.
Who it may not suit yet: If you’re just starting out and don’t yet have much work experience to draw on, a Profiled profile may not have enough material to work with. You’re still welcome to create a free account and come back to build out your profile as your experience grows.

A free account gives you a real, recruiter-ready profile, not a crippled preview.
For recruiters and hiring managers
Screen on evidence, not vocabulary.
Every strength is tied to specific, checkable evidence from the candidate’s own record.
Save serious time.
A clear “Probably not your person” spares you a screening call that was never going anywhere.
Find the people your filters were hiding.
Surface strong candidates whose résumés didn’t match your posting’s wording.
Interview better.
“Worth a conversation” tells you exactly what to probe, so the interview settles the real question.
Hire with more confidence.
A tool willing to say no makes its yes worth acting on.
Treat candidates like people.
Assessments are decision support, not automated rejections.
What you can do with Profiled
Profiled is one platform doing several jobs at once. It’s where you build a living record of your career, where you test that experience against real roles, and where recruiters come to understand what you bring rather than guess at it from a single page.
The profile you create is the foundation. Everything else, from fit assessments to how you share your work with employers, runs on top of it.
This is what makes Profiled versatile. The same profile serves you while you’re actively job hunting and while you’re not, works as hard for a career changer as for a twenty-year specialist, and keeps improving as you add to it.
Here’s what you can do with it:
Build a queryable profile
The profile builder has nine tabs: Basics, Narrative, Experience, Skills, Gaps, Values, FAQ, AI Instructions, and Portfolio. Work through them in any order and at your own pace.
For more details, see What are the nine profile tabs, and do I have to fill them all?
Import a résumé instead of starting blank
Instead of building from a blank profile, you can import a résumé or a profile document as a PDF, Word, Markdown or plain-text file. Profiled reads the file and shows you every item it found, but nothing writes to your profile until you click “Apply to profile.” You choose what goes in, and nothing changes without that step.
Publish and share your profile

Your profile goes live once it meets the publishing checklist. Why won’t the Publish button enable? explains each requirement.
Your public URL is published under an editable username: profiled.careers/yourusername.
Share this link everywhere you’d share a résumé or a LinkedIn profile.

Free and Pro
The free tier stays free. It gives you a complete profile and a full Honest Fit Assessment, with an allowance of visitor chat messages and fit assessments. Pro removes those caps and adds voice practice interviews, the profile assistant’s full interview, and applying to listed opportunities. For the full comparison, see Free vs Pro.
