Free is not a trial. It doesn’t expire, doesn’t ask for a card, and includes the entire profile builder, résumé import, the profile assistant up to publish-ready, publishing, your live public profile, the visitor AI chat, fit assessments, and the recruiter message inbox. The honest-fit philosophy that makes Profiled different is fully available on Free.
Pro (billed monthly or annually — see the pricing page) removes the visitor caps and adds the features for acting on your profile: the profile assistant’s full interview, voice practice, insights, applying to opportunities, and gifting.

A few rows worth reading twice:
- Refer & Earn is on every tier. You don’t need Pro to earn Pro — see Refer & Earn.
- Publishing is not tier-gated. A Free profile publishes on exactly the same checks as a Pro one. Every account has exactly one profile — Pro doesn’t add more.
- Data export and account deletion are everyone’s right, on every tier — see Privacy, data and account deletion.
The two Free limits, precisely
Both are counted against your profile, across all visitors combined. Every question sent through your public profile’s chat counts toward the chat quota, including questions you ask it yourself to test it. The fit-assessment allowance is shared: your own checks with Check a Job Fit come out of it too.
- Visitor chat: a monthly allowance. Resets on the 1st. Only visitor questions count, and once the quota is reached, visitors see that the profile’s monthly chat quota has been reached.
- Fit assessments: a rolling allowance. This is a sliding window, not a monthly reset — each assessment drops out of the count once the window has moved past it.
The current numbers for both are on the limits page. That page also lists the limits that apply to each individual visitor, which are the same on every plan, Pro included. Trying the demo profiles doesn’t touch your quotas — demos run under their own separate caps.
For most candidates these limits are plenty. If your profile is being shared widely and visitors are hitting the caps, that’s the clearest signal Pro’s unlimited chat and assessments are worth it.
Pro comes in three flavors
Worth knowing because voice minutes differ:

For everything other than voice, all three are full Pro. If you hold more than one at once, the paid subscription wins. Details in Voice interviews and practice.
When a complimentary or reward Pro period ends, your account reverts to Free. Nothing is deleted and your profile stays published — Pro features simply lock until you upgrade. Your invite email states how long a complimentary period lasts; there’s no single default.
Upgrading, billing and canceling
- Upgrade from Settings, or from the upgrade card on your Dashboard, which takes you there — monthly or annual, paid in advance through Stripe. Promotion codes can be entered at checkout.
- Manage subscription (Settings) opens the Stripe portal for cancellation, payment-method updates and invoices. The portal doesn’t do plan changes — switching between monthly and annual isn’t self-serve today. If you buy the other plan while subscribed, the duplicate is automatically canceled and refunded and you stay on your current plan — contact support to switch.
- Canceling takes effect at the end of the period you’ve paid for: full access until then, no further charge, no pro-rata refund for the unused part. Your profile stays live under Free limits — canceling a plan is not deleting data.
- Refunds: a full refund on your first Pro payment if you tell Profiled within 30 days — once per customer, monthly or annual. Renewals and voice top-up packs aren’t covered (an entirely unused top-up pack is refunded along with a first-payment guarantee refund).
- If a payment fails, nothing changes immediately — the payment processor retries automatically over the following days, and you’ll get an email saying exactly that. If payment keeps failing your account may move to Free; your profile and data stay in place.
The honest recommendation
Start on Free. Publish. Then open your own public page and use Ask AI About Me the way a skeptical hiring manager would. Upgrade when you want the profile assistant’s full interview or voice practice, when your visitor traffic is hitting the caps, or when you want to apply through Opportunities — and remember the referral path pays for Pro without a card.
