Upload it in the Basics tab of the profile builder. It appears in the hero section at the top of your public profile, next to your name and title. A photo is optional — no publish check depends on it.

Where the control is. Open the Profile builder, go to the Basics tab, and use the photo upload control there. The same control replaces an existing photo.
Upload limit. 10 uploads per rolling 24 hours. That is deliberately generous enough to get the crop right without needing to wait.
Where it shows. The hero section of your public profile, beside your name, title and availability badge. It does not appear anywhere a visitor cannot already see, and it is not used for anything other than display.
Deleting it. Your photo is removed permanently if you delete your account — it is purged along with the rest of your data rather than retained.
Should you add one? It is optional and nothing gates on it. A photo makes a public profile read as a person rather than a record, which matters on a page designed for hiring managers to investigate you directly. But a profile without one publishes exactly the same.
