Start with the basics — your name, title, and what you’re looking for — then import your résumé. The dashboard’s guidance line tells you the same thing while your profile is empty, and it changes as your profile deepens. Expect around 30–45 minutes for a first working profile, split across as many sittings as you like.

What is on the dashboard. Four things worth knowing before you start:
- The welcome header shows your name and your profile status. On a new account that status is Draft — nothing is public until you publish.
- The profile completeness card offers your ways in, and later shows your quality score.
- Messages from recruiters is your inbox. It stays empty until your profile is published, because that is when recruiters can reach you.
- On Free, an upgrade banner for Pro. You can ignore it — everything involved in building and publishing a profile works on Free.
The sidebar holds Dashboard, Profile (the builder, where most of the work happens), Practice, AI Activity, Insights, Opportunities, Refer & Earn, Gift Pro, Preview and Settings.
One note on Preview: it opens your public page, which does not exist until you publish. On a draft profile that link shows a "page not found" — that is expected, not a fault.
Your first move. Open the Profile builder and fill in the Basics tab, then import your résumé to seed your experience and skills. There is no Save button in the builder — your work saves as you go, so you can stop and come back.
