Account management

What emails will Profiled send me, and how do I unsubscribe?

Two kinds: onboarding emails that help you get set up, and transactional emails about things your account did or needs. Onboarding email has an unsubscribe link in the footer; transactional email is sent only when the event it reports actually happens.

Detail

Onboarding sequence: after you join, a short series of emails walks through building your profile, publishing, and what your tier includes. Every one carries an unsubscribe link in the footer, and unsubscribing stops the sequence — suppression is honoured immediately, and a suppressed address is not emailed again by that class of mail.

Transactional email is triggered by events, not schedules:

  • Billing: receipts, payment-failure notices, subscription changes.
  • Security and account: sign-in identity changes, the account-deletion confirmation that starts the 14-day grace window.
  • Activity: a recruiter messaging you, referral and reward notifications, a data export becoming ready.

These are not marketing and are not covered by the onboarding unsubscribe — they exist so you know what your account is doing, and several (like the deletion confirmation) are part of a control you invoked.

The newsletter is a separate list. Subscribing on the website is independent of having an account: deleting your account does not remove a newsletter subscription, and unsubscribing from the newsletter does not touch account email. Use the unsubscribe link in any newsletter issue.

After deletion, a hashed do-not-email entry survives specifically so Profiled never emails that address again.
