Promote rather than delete. The extractor is deliberately conservative: it files skills as "Moderate" when it is unsure rather than overstating them, so the usual cleanup is moving the ones you genuinely are strong in up to the Strong column. Publishing needs at least three Strong skills, and a cautious import can leave you below that line.

What the extractor does on purpose:
- It keeps compound skills together instead of splitting them apart.
- It will not mark a skill "Strong" just because it appears in a list.
- It leaves years blank rather than guess.
- Languages come in as skills — fluent or native lands in Strong, beginner lands in Gaps, anything else in Moderate.
So a list that looks thin or under-rated is the extractor working as designed, not a failure. Open the Skills tab and move cards between the three columns until they match how you would actually describe yourself.
Also check dates and names. If a start date could not be read, the import may fall back to today’s date. A missing company or title becomes "Unknown Company" or "Unknown Role". Both are easy to spot in the Experience tab and worth fixing before you publish.
If you have genuine duplicates, the likely cause is a second import. A repeat import appends rather than updates — it adds every extracted role and skill alongside what you already have. Delete the duplicates by hand.
⚠ Before importing again, untick "Basic Profile" in the review screen unless you want it. It is ticked by default, and it overwrites your current name, title and location, and replaces your social links with whatever the résumé contained.
Nothing is written until you click "Apply to profile", so the review screen is the cheapest place to catch problems. You can import up to 5 times in a rolling 24-hour period.
