Yes, once your profile is published and public. A recruiter’s message lands in your dashboard inbox, and you also receive an email showing the recruiter’s name and company.
Recruiter accounts are not open during the beta, so for now your inbox will normally be empty. The rest of this page describes how contact works once recruiters are on the platform.
Detail
Contact starts at publish. While your profile is in Draft, there is no public page, no recruiter directory entry, and no way for a recruiter to reach you through Profiled. Publishing is what opens the channel. A profile that is published but not public cannot be contacted; What exactly do visitors and recruiters see on my public profile? explains that state.
Where messages arrive:
- In the product: your dashboard inbox collects recruiter messages, so the conversation record lives in your account.
- By email: each message also triggers an email notification showing the recruiter’s name and company, so you can decide from your inbox whether it is worth opening.
How to open the Inbox. Once your first message has arrived, the sidebar shows an "Inbox" entry. You can also open it from the Dashboard: find the "Messages from recruiters" card and click "Open inbox →". The card shows a count of the messages you have received, and the count does not go down after you read one. The page that opens is headed "Messages" and has a "← Back to dashboard" link. Dashboard: completeness, build paths, recruiter messages and banners describes the card.
What a message row shows. Each message is one row: the recruiter’s name, their company if they gave one, a trust badge, the subject, and the date and time it was sent, shown in UTC. Click "Open" to read the message and "Hide" to close it. The list shows your 100 most recent messages, newest first. With none, the page reads "No messages yet. When a recruiter contacts you, their message will land here and in your email."
Trust badges. The badge beside a recruiter’s name is the standing Profiled has given that recruiter’s account. It shows their standing at the moment you look, not at the moment they wrote.
| Badge | What it means | Can send messages |
|---|---|---|
| "Verified" | Profiled has approved this recruiter to contact candidates | Yes |
| "Trusted" | Also approved to contact candidates | Yes |
| "Pending review" | The recruiter’s account is under review | No |
| "Unverified" | The recruiter’s account has not been reviewed | No |
| "Suspended" | Profiled has suspended this recruiter’s account | No |
The badge shows the recruiter’s standing today, which may differ from their standing when they wrote. Treat a message that now shows "Suspended" with caution.
How to reply. You do not reply inside Profiled. Every message is also sent to your email address with the same subject and text, a "From" line naming the recruiter, a "View on Profiled" button that opens your Inbox, and the recruiter’s email address at the bottom. Replying to that email goes to the recruiter directly. The Inbox row itself does not show the recruiter’s address, so keep the email if you plan to answer.
What recruiters saw before writing to you is your public profile — and, if they ran one, a fit assessment grounded in your evidence. That context is the point: contact that arrives through Profiled follows an honest read of your fit rather than a keyword search hit.
You stay in control:
- Unpublishing your profile closes the channel — no new visitors, chats, assessments or messages. Messages already in your inbox stay there.
- The Terms bind how recruiters use assessments: decision support only, no rejecting solely on a fit score, no filtering on protected attributes.
If you stop wanting contact for a while — you have accepted a role, or you are mid-rewrite — unpublishing is reversible and loses nothing.
