Account management

How do I change my email address or password?

Through your account menu: select your avatar in the top-right corner of the page, choose "Manage account", and use Email addresses or Security. Sign-in identity is managed there, separately from your profile content.

The account menu open under the avatar in the top-right corner of the dashboard, showing the options "Dashboard", "Manage account" and "Sign out".
Select your avatar, then Manage account, to change your email address or password.

Detail

Finding the account window: while you are signed in, your avatar sits in the top-right corner of every Profiled page, including the dashboard. It is at the top of the page, so scroll up if you can’t see it. Select it and a small menu opens with three options: "Dashboard", which takes you back to your dashboard from any page, "Manage account" and "Sign out". "Manage account" opens a window titled "Account" on top of the page you are on. It has two tabs: Profile, which holds your name, your account picture and your email addresses, and Security, which holds your password and the list of devices you are signed in on. Close the window to return to where you were.

Changing your email address: Manage account → Profile → Email addresses. Add the new address first, verify it from the confirmation message it receives, and you can then make it primary and remove the old one. Keeping at least one verified address is required — it is how you sign in and where account email goes.

  1. Select "Add email address" and type the new address.
  2. Verify it from the message sent to that address. Until you do, it is marked "Unverified".
  3. Open the menu beside the new address and choose "Set as primary".
  4. Optional: open the menu beside the old address and choose "Remove email".

Changing your password: Manage account → Security. Enter your current password and the new one. If you have forgotten your password, sign out and use the reset link on the sign-in page instead — a reset message goes to your verified address.

In the Password row, select "Update password". You type the new password twice, and you can tick "Sign out of all other devices" so that anything still signed in with the old password is signed out.

If you signed up with Google: Google is the only other way to sign in to Profiled, and it appears under "Connected accounts" on the Profile tab. An account created with Google may have no Profiled password, in which case the Password row offers "Set password" in place of "Update password". Your Google password is changed at Google, never here.

What this does not touch: your profile. The email you sign in with is not shown on your public page, and changing it does not alter your profile URL, your published content, or your subscription. Subscription billing email does not move with it: it goes to the address on your billing record, which is the one you had when you first paid. Receipts for voice top-ups go to your current account email. Your plan and billing are on the Settings screen, described in Settings: your plan and subscription.

Worth knowing:

  • Your sign-in identity is handled by Profiled’s authentication provider, so the Manage account panel looks slightly different from the rest of the dashboard — that is expected.
  • The newsletter list is separate from your account email. Changing your account address does not move a newsletter subscription; unsubscribe and re-subscribe with the new address if you want it there too.
