Be genuinely honest. Profiled is built so candour is rewarded, not punished: publishing requires at least one declared gap, honest entries earn quality-score points, and the fit assessment does not flatter anyone — including you.
Detail
The mechanics reward honesty. You cannot publish without at least one gap or weakness entry, and two or more earns full quality-score points. As the profile guide puts it: the AI can only be honest about gaps it knows about. A profile with no admitted gaps is not "stronger" — it is less credible, and the product treats it that way.
Your candour is not broadcast. The detailed reflections — why a gap exists, what you would do differently, the honest notes on each skill — are private context. They are never shown to visitors or recruiters and never given to the visitor chat. They ground your Honest Fit Assessment, where their job is to make the verdict accurate.
Honesty is what makes your strong verdicts worth something. A fit assessment that can say "not a strong fit" is the reason a recruiter can trust it when it says the opposite. Declared gaps also filter out the roles that would have surfaced them at interview — later, with more wasted time.
The rules protect you too. The Terms prohibit recruiters from rejecting a candidate solely on a fit score, and fit assessments are decision support, not automated decisions with legal effect.
The practical line: declare the gaps that are real and relevant, mark the ones you want to grow in as interested-in-learning, and keep the raw detail in the private fields where it does its work without being on display.
