Dashboard Settings → "Manage subscription" opens the Stripe customer portal. It covers exactly three things: cancelling, updating your payment method, and viewing invoice history. It cannot change your plan.
Detail
What the portal covers:
- Cancel your subscription — access continues to the end of the period already paid for.
- Update your payment method — the card on file for renewals.
- Invoice history — view and download past invoices.
What it deliberately does not do: any plan change. There is no switch-plan option in the portal — not between tiers, and not between monthly and annual billing. If you want to change how you are billed, contact support@profiledcareers.com and they will walk you through the right path for your case.
Two things people expect to find there:
- "Downgrade to Free" is not a portal action — downgrading is what cancelling does. When the paid period ends you move to Free, and your profile stays published under Free limits.
- Refunds are not self-serve in the portal. The 30-day first-payment guarantee is handled by writing to support within the window.
The button only appears when it applies: Manage subscription shows for accounts with an active paid subscription. On Free, the Settings page shows the upgrade options instead.
Card details never touch Profiled’s servers — payment runs on Stripe-hosted pages, which is also why billing management lives in Stripe’s portal rather than in the dashboard itself.
